Effects of land-use change in temperate rainforests on the soil fungal metagenome

Here we describe the effects of land-use change on the soil fungal metagenome in a temperate rainforest in Southern Chile. Using ITS sequencing of soil samples collected from pristine forest, after partial removal of vegetation and total clearcut at different depths, we characterized the fungal community to determine the influence of different forest management strategies. Our results showed that land-use changes significantly affect soil fungal communities.
