Polygons of the sectors affected by road or railway noise in connection with the prefectural decrees of the Charente sound classification pursuant to the Ministerial Order of 30 May 1996. The noise level in these areas (expressed in LAeq) exceeds or is likely to eventually exceed a threshold of 60 dB(A) in daytime due solely to land transport infrastructure. This sound ranking is based on a forecasted evolution of traffic. Indicator LAeq: as the noise level of a source varies over time, it is necessary to calculate the energy average over a given duration (Leq) in order to observe and compare different values. When this value is A-weighted, it is called LAeq (equivalent continuous sound pressure level).
