A European woman wearing a headscarf is sitting together with a dog at the entrance of a tent. Behind her: a laid table.; Elise Schärf (1892-?) was a missionary of the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine. She was a deaconess and received training not only as a nurse but also in the care of mothers and lepers. She served from 1928 for many years at the leprosy hospital in Isoko.
