For the single Anammox and synergistic PDanammox reactors, samples from Day 42, Day 90, Day 122, and Day 193 were selected to further investigate the responses and resilience at the molecular biology level. To guarantee a representative sample, sludge from the UASB was discharged into a measuring cup and then a sludge sample was collected after mixing thoroughly.
