Habitat Restoration and Pest Animal Exclusion Works at Serendip Sanctuary

Serendip Sanctuary houses a collection of native species for display. Included in this is a number of threatened and endangered species that form part of the Sanctuary's captive breeding program. Over a number of years the secure enclosures have deteriorated due to age and now do not keep out introduced species such as rabbits, cats and foxes. The aims of this project is to increase the security of the displays and commence rabbit removal activities and subsequent revegetation projects. Included is the ability for the team to learn many practical skills including fencing, integrated pest management techniques and revegetation methods. The ultimate aim is to remove all pest fauna from the secure enclosure sites in Serendip.
