XMM-Newton Observations of New Massive Planck Clusters

Through a multiwavelength program of groundbased optical and nearinfraredimaging plus spacebased Xray imaging with Swift, we have identified a numberof rich, massive, Xrayemitting clusters among the unconfirmed Planck clustercandidates. We have selected the ten most promising new clusters for observationwith XMM this cycle. All have Planck signaltonoise ratios greater than 5 andsignificant Xray flux.
