资源简介:
This dataset originates from a pilot study aimed at developing a questionnaire-based tool to assess how well soft constraints are reflected in aviation maintenance shift scheduling. The study focused on aviation maintenance personnel, including mechanics, technicians, and engineers, to explore core topics and behaviours relevant to scheduling practices.
The study addressed the following research questions:
1. What key aspects of soft constraints in aviation maintenance shift scheduling can be identified through the newly developed questionnaire?
2. Does the newly developed questionnaire adequately assess preliminary validity and internal consistency reliability in a pilot study setting?
3. What additional themes related to soft constraints may emerge from participants’ responses to open-ended questions beyond the scope of close-ended items?
Data were collected via Qualtrics XM targeting aviation maintenance personnel. The dataset includes responses to both close-ended and open-ended questions.
- Quantitative data: Close-ended questions were analysed using SPSS Statistics 29.0.1. Cronbach’s alpha was calculated for reliability testing, and construct validity was assessed through Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA). Descriptive statistics and inferential analyses were conducted, including parametric tests (Welch ANOVA with Games-Howell post hoc comparisons) and non-parametric tests (Kruskal-Wallis H) to identify group differences.
- Qualitative data: Open-ended responses were analysed following Braun and Clarke’s (2006) thematic analysis framework. Two authors performed initial coding in Excel, and final themes were agreed upon collectively through consensus.
*The dataset includes raw responses prior to EFA execution. Consequently, the structure of the questionnaire may be revised based on EFA results in future studies.
*This dataset represents a pilot study and is intended for preliminary exploration and validation of the research tool.
