[C4OC] Protecting priority and threatened flora and fauna of the NAR

The project “Protecting Flora and Fauna in the Northern Agricultural Region” will protect and preserve 1000 hectares of remnant vegetation within the Northern Agricultural Region with the intent to increase connectivity at the local, catchment and landscape scale. An important component is to identify current threats to biodiversity and reduce the impact of these threats, including the protection of threatened species and ecological communities from emerging threats that include invasive species. Additionally to coordinate management goals and implement best practice methods for on-ground operations. Furthermore an increase in land managers’ and community’s knowledge and attitudes to manage threatened species and remnant vegetation and Indigenous capacity in NRM activities will be delivered. Incentives will be used to engage land managers across all to undertake works to protect and restore high value remnant vegetation, prioritising areas containing threatened flora or fauna.
