VPRS 9940 Unpublished Manuscript of Melbourne Electric Supply Co. Limited by V.A. Randall

This series comprises typescripts of Melbourne Electricity Supply Company (M.E.S. Co.) by Miss Violet Randall and a file setting out the terms and conditions of her contract to compile the history. This unpublished history was written and researched between 1936 and 1937 at the request of State Electricity Commission Victoria (SEC).Miss Randall was contracted to write the history by the SEC in her position as secretary to the General Manager, F.W. Clement and because of her knowledge of many of the important documents concerning the establishment and the history and operation of M.E.S. Co. Miss Randall was employed by M.E.S. Co. from its inception in 1901 to the purchase of the company by the SEC in 1930.
