资源简介:
Our study, published in Rodriguesia journal, aimed at using the lichen species Parmotrema tinctorum in active air quality biomonitoring. With a new methodology we studied the area of chlorosis in the lichen’s thalli using QGis software. Samples of the aforementioned species were exposed to atmospheric pollution for 30 consecutive days in the dry and rainy seasons in Uberaba municipality, Minas Gerais state, Brazil. The samples were exposed to air pollution in urban (A, B and C points) and industrial landscapes (D point). The chlorosis rate (34% of the lichen thalli, on average) and the accumulation of sulfur (1.1 g.kg-1, on average) were higher in the samples of lichens exposed in the industrial region, in the dry season. There was a moderate-to-high positive correlation between chlorosis rate and lichen content of nitrogen, sulfur, iron and zinc, in the dry season, mainly with sulfur (r = 0.71). The results confirmed the sensitive of P. tinctorum to atmospheric pollution, even after a short exposure time. The following files are attached here: - Study points - KML file with the geographical location of the points of exposure of the lichen P. tinctorum in Uberaba municipality, Minas Gerais state, Brazil;- Figure 1 - Chlorosis area in lichen thalli of P. tinctorum. A-D: Samples exposed in the dry season at points A, B, C and D, respectively. E-H: Samples exposed during the rainy season at points A, B, C and D, respectively;- Table 1 - Mean values of polluting elements concentration and chlorosis in samples of the lichen P. tinctorum from different points at Uberaba, in the dry and rainy season;- Raw data - Spreadsheets with raw data of chlorosis and concentration of polluting elements in samples of the lichen P. tinctorum from different points at Uberaba, Minas Gerais, Brazil, in the dry and rainy season, and statistical analysis to compare data between study points and between seasons (files are in Excel and CSV formts)..
