Vickers who was in hospital recovering from overdose of sleeping pills -- suicide attempt.; Caption slip reads: "Photographer: Emery. Date: Hold for release from L.Q. Martin, Captain of Detectives, Long Beach Police Department. Assignment: Narcotics bouquet. 98: LBPD criminological laboratory technician Ralph Simonds examining 'loaded' basket of flowers delivered to hospital room of attempt suicide patient. 37, 16, 630, 36: Closeup showing how 'yellowjack' capsules were taped with plastic tape to petals of flowers in lethal bouquet. Narcotics were identified as pentobarbital and numbutol. Wicker basket 18" x 10" also contained nutmeats, a candy sucker, machine nuts and screws, patent medicines, sunflower seeds, charcoal tablets".
