Sex Differences Stroke Results

We looked back at 271 stroke patients at our hospital to see if there were any differences between men and women. We found that women were generally older and had more disability before their stroke. Younger women (aged 31–60) tended to have more severe strokes than men in the same age group. Overall, recovery after stroke was pretty similar for both sexes, but women were a bit more likely to be considered for early palliative care. Our results suggest it’s important to keep sex differences in mind when treating stroke patients
