Features of gut microbiota composition in ovarian cancer

Ovarian cancer (OC) remains a clinical challenge for its difficulty in early diagnosis and insensitivity to treatments. Gut microbiota modulates multiple carcinoma progression through immunoregulation. Whereas the relationship between OC and gut microbiota has not been fully characterized. We noticed that the feces of OC patients demonstrated different characteristics from patients with benign ovary tumors. After fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) from OC patients into OC-bearing murine, the tumor development accelerated. The study aimed to investigate the relationship between gut microbiota and OC progression.
