Whole-genome sequencing, de novo assembly, and RNAseq analysis reveals unique features of the kidney in the American black bear (Ursus americanus)

we have performed high-throughput sequencing and a de novo assembly of the complete genome using both genomic DNA and RNA isolated from kidneys of American black bears (Ursus americanus) and made a first comparison of transcription profiles between kidneys collected in the spring (within weeks of waking up from hibernation) and the fall.
