This dataset consists of the raw data used for creating a frequency distribution of the number of cancer-related papers associated with 20 food ingredients. Paper counts were collected from the Altmetric database from queries in the format of: <em>ingredient</em> AND (cancer OR carcinogenesis OR oncology OR tumour OR tumor). The histogram appears in a blog post on the Altmetric blog.
