Several hospital wastawater samples were collected in order to investigate their microbial diversity, as part of a bigger project that targeted the abundance of antibiotic resistance genes in the environment. This amplicon sequencing approach provides access to the diversity of the entire community, including strains that cannot be cultured, allowing us to evaluate changes in community structure that can be attributed to the presence of antibiotics and disinfectants.
