CD3+ T cells immunized in vitro with a lipoprotein fragment of the HCV core protein consisting of residues 20-44, containing the epitopic sequence, linked to tripalmitoyl-S-cysteine produced IFNg in response to the epitope. IFNg production did not correlate with CTL activity.
