资源简介:
This dataset includes characteristics of racially segregated public schools at the local level between the 1940-41 and 1959-60 school years for nine southern states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. Public school characteristics include enrollment (total and by grade, where available), average daily attendance, number of teachers, average teacher salary and/or aggregate teacher salary expenditures, and term length, all reported separately by race. The cross-sectional unit of analysis is the school district (if available, with county identifiers provided) or county (if school district is not available). With few exceptions, panel data are annual, span the full period, and mirror table entries in primary sources. Data are distributed both in Stata format and as comma-separated text.
