RNA-seq of hematopoietic stem cells and platelets from the tumor-bearing mouse model.

The interaction between platelets and cancer cells enhances metastasis; however, the cross-talk between platelets and non-malignant cells within the tumor microenvironment (TME) remains poorly characterized. In this project, we performed RNA-seq to study the effects of tumor-derived IL-6 on hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) in the bone marrow and on induced changes in platelets in the peripheral blood. Specifically, we orthotopically transplanted mouse gastric cancer cells (GAN-KP control or GAN-KP IL-6OE) or SHAM into mice. Two weeks later, HSCs were isolated from the bone marrow and platelets from the peripheral blood, followed by RNA-seq analysis.
