资源简介:
This dataset contains temperature data (degrees Celsius) collected using Omega K-type thermocouples (KMTXL-IOM25G-150, Omega Engineering Inc., Norwalk, CT) during multiple static field experiments at Savannah River Site (SRS) between May 2023 and June 2025. Temperature data were collected at 10-Hz.The data is from a series of experiments using liquid pool fires and small-scale laboratory work to characterize the way structure and heterogeneity of fuel elements change the drag and convective heat transfer in plume dynamics. Other datasets were collected and complement this dataset as part of the Department of Defense project RC20-1362.The SRS field experiments were conducted using multiple pan configurations within a 2-ha loblolly and long leaf pine plantation. Understory vegetation was removed in all burns and tree density reduced in some burns. Temperature data were collected using Eighty-four Omega K-type thermocouples arranged in vertical profiles on 11 towers around the pan area with the attempt to have 10 towers downwind and one tower upwind. Two tower series (3 towers each) each had a total of seven thermocouples. The remaining 5 towers each had fourteen thermocouples. Multiple configurations were used based on instrument availability and prevailing winds. For exact thermocouple location and pan configuration for each burn, see burn layout and documentation dataset: A Multiscale study of the coupling between flow, fire and vegetation: field experiments â burn layout and documentation (https://doi.org/10.60594/W4NC73, see Annotations section for Metadata link).
