Streptococcus dysgalactiae Kdys0611 Genome Sequencing. Streptococcus dysgalactiae strain:Kdys0611

Lancefield group C Streptococcus dysgalactiae causes severe necrotic lesions in the caudal peduncle in farmed fish such as amberjack (Seriola dumerili) and yellowtail (S. quinqueradiata) in Japan. S. dysgalactiae Kdys0611 was isolated from farmed amberjack in 2006. In general, S. dysgalactiae was identified as the causative agent of mastitis in cattle, endocarditis in domestic animals, and cardiopulmonary diseases and adenoiditis in human. Although several complete genomes of S. dysgalactiae isolated from human have been sequenced, there is no whole genome information of fish isolate. To characterize the genomic feature of fish isolate, we report the complete genome sequence of S. dysgalactiae Kdys0611.
