In vivo Study of the Effects of a Northern Contaminant Mixture (NCM) on the Development of Metabolic and Cardiovascular Diseases under Conditions Typifying the Diets and Lifestyles of Northerners

To investigate the potential role of exposure to Northern contaminants in the development of metabolic and cardiovascular diseases using rodent models of human disease, the obese and lean JCR rats, as well as to examine the influence of genetic background such as obese versus lean, diet such as high fat/sugar vs normal nutritious diet, and lifestyle factors such as alcohol on the health effects of Northern contaminants.
