Distribution of Fe-Oxidizing Bacteria in the Coastal Wetland Ecosystem of the Northern East China Sea

This study focused on the sediments of five coastal wetlands located in the Xisha Wetland Park of Chongming Island, Shanghai, and the Dongsha Beach of Zhujiajian Island in Zhoushan City, Zhejiang. We measured the basic environmental parameters, such as the oxygen penetration depth in sediments. Utilizing 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing technology, the research comprehensively deciphered the community composition and distribution of bacteria and Fe-oxidizing bacteria, as well as the assembly mechanisms of the microbial communities in these diverse coastal wetland ecosystems.
