North American Beaver (Castor canadensis) Raw sequence reads. gut metagenome

The beaver (Castor Canadensis) is a semi-aquatic herbivore whose diet consists of a variety of lignocellulose containing feedstuffs. The beaver is a hindgut fermentor with enlarged ceacum that houses a complex microbial community that plays a role in digesting this material. The goal of this study was to examine the composition of the bacterial and archaeal communities that inhabit the gastrointestinal tract of the beaver.
