WFD coordination areas in Lower Saxony

The WFD requires the so-called river basin approach; all plans, studies or measures must cover the entire catchment area of a river across countries. In order to better coordinate management planning between countries, coordination spaces have been set up within river basins, which are also used for reporting to the EU.《水框架指令（Water Framework Directive, WFD）》要求采用所谓的流域管理方法；所有规划、研究或措施均需覆盖跨界河流的完整集水区。为更好协调各国间的管理规划工作，各流域内设立了协调机制，该机制同时用于向欧盟报送相关报告。
