In precious studies, we established an animal model with the genetic absence of the CST by conditionally inactivating Celsr3 in corticospinal motor neurons (Emx1-Cre;Celsr3f/- mice) and found that spontaneous plasticity of the motor network partially contributed to functional recovery.However, Emx1-Cre;Celsr3f/- mice still behave movement abnormalities compared to the littermate control. In this study, we assess whether voluntary exercise fosters functional improvement and its potential mechanisms.
