Dataset for: High readiness, low utilization – Adolescent SRH study in eastern Uganda (Bugweri and Iganga districts

This dataset supports the study titled “High readiness, low utilization: a cross-sectional study explaining the adolescent sexual and reproductive health service gap in eastern Uganda”. It contains primary data collected from 408 adolescents aged 13–19 years in Bugweri and Iganga districts, Busoga region, eastern Uganda, between November and December 2024. The dataset includes socio-demographic characteristics, psychosocial readiness measures (health-seeking attitudes, perceptions of SRH services, and service preferences), SRH service utilization patterns, and structural barriers to access. Key variables allow for the calculation of a composite psychosocial readiness score and the readiness-utilization conversion gap. The data were collected using a structured questionnaire and are provided in Stata (.dta) format. This dataset enables replication of the descriptive statistics, conversion gap analysis, and structural equation modelling (SEM) presented in the associated publication. It provides valuable evidence on the gap between high adolescent readiness and low actual use of sexual and reproductive health services in a rural and peri-urban East African setting.
