11 primary and biosludges from 5 pulp and paper mills underwent anaerobic batch incubation to determine differences in methane production. Samples were incubated with and without ethanol substrate to test for substrate limitation. Pre- and post-incubation microbial communities underwent 16S metabarcoding using an Illumina MiSeq.
