Research on the Mechanism of Intergenerational Interaction on the Elderly's Sense of Learning Gain in Music Education Scenarios of the Digital Society

This project contains two main types of data, derived from an empirical study on the mechanism of intergenerational interaction on older adults' sense of learning gain in digital music learning contexts within the digital society, with a structural equation model (SEM) as the core analytical framework: (i) Latent variable indicator data from questionnaire measures: This is the primary dataset of the study, comprising 26 observed indicators collected from 412 valid respondents (aged 60 years or older, who had participated in at least four weeks of digital music learning). These indicators are designed to measure six core latent constructs: intergenerational interaction quality (5 items), emotional support (4 items), technical assistance (4 items), learning engagement (4 items), social recognition (4 items), and sense of learning gain (5 items). All items were rated on a five-point Likert scale. This dataset serves as the foundation for conducting confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), reliability and validity testing, and structural path analysis (including estimation of direct, mediating, and sequential mediating effects). (ii) Sample demographic and learning-behaviour characteristic data: To provide a comprehensive description of the research sample and to support potential subgroup analyses or control variable testing, the dataset also includes respondents' demographic information (e.g., gender, age group, education level, living arrangement) and learning-behaviour characteristics (e.g., prior digital experience, weekly learning frequency, learning duration, and main type of younger partner). These categorical variables were coded numerically and integrated with the questionnaire indicator data within the same data file.
