This is a combined data set, representing fishery data collected by 20 fishers through self-reporting during two pinger field trials that were conducted in Norwegian gillnet fisheries in 2018-2020 and in 2024, respectively. Please refer to the scientific publications associated with these data for a more detailed description of how they were collected (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.fishres.2022.106564 and https://doi.org/10.7557/3.8004). The data have been anonymized to protect the identities of the fishers involved.
Each row in the data set represents one fishing operation, i.e. the setting and subsequent hauling of a string of gillnets.
