Minutes of Meeting: Education and Training Section, 22 Oct 2025

The Education and Training Section (SET) meeting on October 22, 2025, gathered 25 international members to discuss ongoing and upcoming projects, including the Building Strong LIS Education (BSLISE) initiatives such as the IFLA Guidelines for LIS Education, Global Directory and Map of LIS programs, and LIS Rankings Project. Updates highlighted the success of the SET Webinar Series for students, which promotes research sharing and professional development, and the upcoming 50th Anniversary Book documenting global LIS education trends. The Global Knowledge Management Project was presented, aiming to map KM competencies and education worldwide through collaborative international research. The meeting concluded with plans for SET’s 2025–2027 Action Plan, stronger communications efforts, and preparations for the 2026 World Library and Information Congress (WLIC) in Busan, South Korea.
