ModFX: parametric analog modulation effects

A dataset of input/output paired audio signals of three guitar modulation effects pedals: Boss BF-2 Flanger Marshall SV-1 Chorus EHX Smallstone Phaser The file naming convention for the output signals is <pedal name>_<control knob positions>-<created timestamp>.wav e.g. bf2_0_0.5_0.5_0-250807_1308.wav is the BF-2 Flanger output with control knob positions: Manual=0; Rate=0.5; Depth=0.5; Resonance=0 (where 0 is minimum and 1 is the maximum). Input/dry signals The signal input_250807_104006.wav consists of a series of short frames of pulses, chirps, noise bursts and guitar/bass playing, concatenated into a single wav file. These sub-signals are parameterised in terms of: Pulse shape: triangular kernel (tri), linear-group-delay chirp (lin_chirp), logarithmic-group-delay chirp (log_chirp), or the chirp that is the impulse response of cascaded all-pass filters (ap_chirp). Frame length, n_win: the total length of each frame, including zero-padding. pulse_frac (4, 2 or 1): the divisor of the frame length that gives the pulse length. The pulse length in sample is given by n_win/pulse_frac; the zero-padding length is therefore n_win - n_win/pulse_frac. See ModFX_illustration.pdf for an illustration. The file input_250807_104006_cfg.csv contains timestamps of where each sub-signal starts and ends. Each sub-signal is of length 2^20 samples (23.7s at 44.1kHz). Two input files are provided: Filename Description input_250807_104006.wav The "pure" input signal - the signal that was sent to the audio interface output. input_reroute-250807_1107.wav The signal recorded when connecting the audio interface output to its input directly.
