Characterization and application of a novel Campylobacter phage CC_R7 as a biocontrol agent in chicken meat

This project will focus on investigating antimicrobial resistance patterns in Campylobacter jejuni and Campylobacter coli and exploring bacteriophage-based biocontrol strategies. A novel lytic phage, CC_R7, will be isolated, characterized, and genomically analyzed. Its stability, biofilm inhibition potential, and ability to reduce Campylobacter contamination in poultry will be evaluated, aiming to develop sustainable alternatives to combat multidrug-resistant strains and enhance food safety.
