The genome assembly of Elymus nutans

Elymus nutans Griseb. (syn. Campeiostachys nutans), with the genome institution of St, Y and H (2n = 6x = 42), is a widespread native grass of the Triticeae in the QTP region. However, the lack of a reference genome has hindered further research on E. nutans, such as extreme environmental adaptability, excellent gene mining, molecular breeding or even distant improvement. Here, we assembled the de novo chromosome-level reference genome of E. nutans, which represents the first genome of the Elymus genus containing the Y haplome.
