Personal characteristics of all persons registered in the Municipal Basic Administration of Personal Data (GBA), uncoordinated (from 01-02-2022)

Includes demographic background data (e.g. gender, year of birth, migration background) of all persons listed in the BRP as of 1 October 1994, data that do not or hardly change. Also contains data of persons who were resident before 1 October 1994 but who did not reside after that date, insofar as they are registered in the BRP. This group is certainly not fully observed. The component is an uncoordinated version and contains information up to and including the last day and year of the reporting period. There is no sharply defined start date. This description is valid from version 202203. All information in the file is provisional. The file is part of CBS’s System of Social Statistical Files (SSB). For example, for non-residents, the BRP does not know any information about the parents’ country of birth. The relevant variables VRLGBAGEBOORTELAND VAVDER and VRLGBAGEBOORTELAND MOTHER as well as the derived variables VRLGBAHER COMMUNITATION, VRLGBAGENERATION and VRLGBAAANTALOUDER GERMANY are imputed. In this group of persons, unknown values may occur, the variables concerned are then filled with unknown (0000). For some of the residents born abroad, the country of birth of one or both parents is also unknown. Missing information regarding personal characteristics may be imputated. Birth month is imputated for about 90 thousand people. This almost always concerns first generation people with a migrant background. The information relating to personal characteristics may vary by version. In a later version, new known information may have been added that replaces previous information. When do you use this file? The file is used to add personal attributes to individuals within populations that originate from other files. The file cannot be used to make counts. This file is not suitable for deducing the state of the population, as published (once) by team Demography. For this purpose reference is made to the component GBASTANDBEVOLKINGYYJTABVV. If levelling is 1 January JJJJ+ 1 and the information has to match with information previously published on StatLine then you use the coordinated component of JJJJ (the component runs until 31 December JYYY-1 00:00). Although the coordinated component contains information on a series of years, only the last year in the component is final. This means that a different version (year) of the coordinated component should be used for each year output. In all other cases, the uncoordinated version can be used. Also, with the same component, a single analysis file with multiple periods can be created at the same time. In addition, the component also contains personal data of persons who were residents of the Netherlands before 1 October 1994. The Basic Registration of Persons (BRP) contains information about both residents and non-residents of the Netherlands. Residents are persons who are registered in the population register of a Dutch municipality. Non-residents consist of: — persons who are no longer residents of the Netherlands but who have a relationship with the Dutch government. One can think of emigrants who receive an AOW pension abroad. Such a person has once been a resident, but no longer. — persons who have never been a resident but have a relationship with the Dutch government. Think of a seasonal worker who has never been a resident but works for a company based in the Netherlands.
