Spondweni virus strain: SPONV-SAAr94 Sequencing

Here, we sequenced a SPONV stock, strain SPONV-SAAr94. The seed stock with five rounds of amplification with unknown culture conditions followed by a single round of amplification on Vero cells, was obtained from Brandy Russell (CDC, Ft. Collins, CO). Virus stocks were prepared by inoculation onto a confluent monolayer of C6/36 mosquito cells. Originated in 1955from a Mansonia uniformis mosquito in Lake Simbu, Natal, South Africa.
