Replication package: Trust, Rule of Law, and the Size Premium: Evidence from a Meta-Analysis

Replication package for "Trust, Rule of Law, and the Size Premium: Evidence from aMeta-Analysis" (Jiří Schwarz, Tomáš Havránek, Zuzana Iršová, Jiří Novák, 2026). The package reproduces every table and figure in the manuscript from frozen,analysis-ready data: 1,613 reported size-slope estimates from 105 studies and 31countries, matched to generalized trust from the European Values Study and WorldValues Survey, and to rule of law from the Worldwide Governance Indicators. Contents. run_all.R (the single entry point), 00_install_dependencies.R, R/ (datapreparation, OLS and figures, Bayesian model averaging, diagnostics, verification),data/ (the frozen inputs and a per-column data dictionary), tables/, figures/ (PNG andPDF), outputs/ (model objects, plot data, validation files, the run log, sessioninformation, and an MD5 manifest), and vendor/BMS/ (the vendored BMS sources behind thereported BMA results). Reproduction. Install R (4.2 or newer) and run "Rscript run_all.R" from any workingdirectory. A full run takes about 2.3 minutes on the machine recorded inoutputs/sessionInfo.txt and ends with "All replication checks passed". The Bayesianmodel averaging fixes seed 20260607 and uses the BRIC g-prior, a random model-sizeprior, a birth-death sampler, 5,000 stored models, 100,000 burn-in and 200,000 retainediterations. Scope. Replication starts from the frozen matched inputs. It does not rebuild theupstream acquisition and matching (the EVS/WVS aggregation, the nearest-survey-yeartrust match, the WGI merge, and the pre-1960 sample filter), because the raw surveymicrodata cannot be redistributed here.
