Gut microbiota analysis in postoperative Lynch syndrome patients

In this pilot study we performed 16S rRNA gene sequencing of bacterial DNA extracted from faecal samples of 10 postoperative LS female patients who had developed either colonic lesions, with/without additional tumors (L-CRC), or gynecological cancers only (L-GC). While no differences were found between L-CRC and L-GC subgroups, a significant difference in OTUs abundance emerged between LS cases and control females, suggesting the possible existence of a faecal microbiota pattern associated with LS genetic background
