Lake Barkley KY Water Quality Data, 1997

Thirteen sites were monitored each month from April through December 1997 to assess water quality in the lower portion of Lake Barkley Reservoir, located in Western Kentucky. Lake Barkley is the terminal reservoir of the Cumberland River system and is mostly bordered on the western shore by undeveloped federal land and on the eastern side by primarily agricultural land. Sites were chosen to represent western embayments, eastern embayments, and the main channel. For each site, data were recorded for light penetration, pH, conductivity, water temperature, oxidation-reduction potential, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, ammonia nitrogen, nitrate nitrite nitrogen, total dissolved nitrogen, soluble reactive phosphorus, total phosphorus, and alkalinity.
