Mutation rates in C. riparius after exposure to cadmium

In the present study we used short-term mutation accumulation (MA) lines with subsequent whole genome sequencing (WGS) and a dedicated data analysis pipeline to investigate the mutagenic potential caused by chronic Cd exposure on Chironomus riparius. Results show that Cd exposure did not affect the basal germline mutation rate nor the mutational spectrum in C. riparius.
