Sequencing of the A.E. Watkins landrace collection of bread wheat and modern cultivars

Data were generated as part of a collaboration among an international consortium for implementing systematic gene discovery for breeding. We used the rich genetic, geographic and phenotypic diversity within the A.E. Watkins landrace collection of bread wheat, comprising 827 accessions collected from 32 countries in the 1920s and 1930s. in addition, we sequenced 208 wheat cultivars developed through modern breeding in the 20th century.
