This study analyzed the clonal evolution at the transcriptomic level during the recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after liver transplantation, utilizing a rare collection of primary and recurrent tumors. The study included patients who underwent liver transplantation for HCC, and paired tumor formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) samples were collected from the seven patients at both the initial resection and recurrence. Total RNA was extracted for gene expression analysis using the NanoString nCounter Tumor Signaling 360 Panel.
