资源简介:
Photograph of Death Valley looking south from Hell's Gate, showing a large field of vegetation in the foreground, January 1928. In the foreground extending to the distant background, a large expanse of dry shrubs and wild vegetation can be seen. Bits of crude dirt and sand are visible between the plants. The flat plateau stretches across the entire image from left to right. In the extreme background, a large mountain range can be seen extending from left to right. Clouds are strewn across the sky above.; Caption on the photo sleeve reads: "Looking south from Hell's Gate on the eastern side of Death Valley on the road from Rhyolite. In the distance is the bed of Salt Creek and beyond that Furnace Creek Ranch. To the right are the Panamint Mts. with their highest peak, Telescope Mt., capped with snow. The 49ers used this peak as a landmark; it can be seen for a long distance from the east side of the Valley".
