Slovenian Public Opinion 2005/2

The research is part of a pan-European project aimed at recording social change over time. Thematic research focuses mainly on issues of national and international security. The questionnaire consists of six strands. In the first we have questions about security threats. The second block is dedicated to security culture and includes, inter alia, questions about behaviour in the event of armed aggression, the school subject of civic education, and justifiable reasons for the use of military force. The following section raises questions about the security system of the Republic of Slovenia, the role in maintaining sovereignty and independence, the tasks of the military and participation in international operations. The fourth part of the questionnaire is dedicated to security integrations in Europe. Respondents first assess their confidence in certain international institutions and their position towards EU and NATO membership. Then there are questions about the relationship with the military profession. This is followed by a large-scale demographic block, which is closed by questions by respondents to assess their latency.
