RNA-Seq (Illumina platform) was used to re-annotate the Pasteurella multocida str. P-3480 genome. Pasteurella multocida, a gram negative bacterium, causes various diseases in birds, animals as well as humans. Pasteurella multocida str. P-3480, a non-toxigenic, serotype A isolate, is capable of causing secondary infection in swine affected by pneumonia. We also identified small RNA and suggested corrections to the existing annotation.
