Identification of key genes associated with inflammation and involved in the progression of Crohn's disease based on bioinformatics and clinical specimen analysis

Expression of hub genes and their relationship between clinical characters in the adjacent normal intestinal mucosa biopsies and intestinal mucosa in Crohn's lesion was validated using immumohistochemical staining. It was exhibited that 74 genes which were in the clinically significant modules both related to disease progression and inflammation, and differently expressed in the intestinal mucosa provided from healthy control and patients with CD were identified.
