To reveal the effects of bract suppression on determining the inflorescence architecture in rice, shoot apex (45 days after germination) and developing panicle (<0.5 mm) are collected from the wild-type and the bract de-repression mutants neck leaf 1 (nl1) and triple mutant spl7 spl14 spl17 to perform RNA-seq and ATAC-seq, which reveal that bract suppression regulated by NL1 and SPL genes are critical required for the transition from vegetative to reproductive branching.
