Bile acids bind to exposed cavities in the glucocorticoid receptor

We propose certain bile acids bind to a highly conserved pocket in the glucocorticoid receptor ligand binding domain, interfere with receptor multimerization and modulate its transcriptional activity. We use crystallography along with microscopy and transcriptomics to study the effects of bile acids on the glucocorticoid receptor activity.
