Fungal Pacific Biosciences sequencing of ITS2 amplicons in Mediterranean Pre-Pyrenees

Pacific Biosciences sequencing of ITS2 amplicons was perform to characterize the soil fungal community composition and diversity in 42 pure and mixed forest dominated by pure P. nigra, P. halepensis and P.sylvestris, and P.nigra-P. halepensis and P.nigra-P.sylvestris mixtures. We specifically aimed in identifying and test the main soil, spatial and forest structural factors that accounted for the highest proportion of fungal community variation along an altitudinal regional gradient in the Mediterranean Pre-Pyrenees.
