Working conditions: work and health aspects, 2004

The figures presented are based on questions about working conditions in CBS’s Permanent Research on Living Situation (POLS). Questions on working conditions have been included in the POLS Health module from 1997 to 2004. People belonging to the working population (persons aged 15 to 64 who perform at least 12 hours of paid work weekly) have been asked questions about working conditions and health complaints that can be attributed to excessive workload. These questions per year concern approximately 4000 persons employed. This StatLine table shows the results on a number of work-related health complaints. On the psychic level, these include complaints of unusual fatigue and burnout. On the physical level, attention is focused, among other things, on back and RSI complaints. Figures on reported absenteeism and causes of absenteeism are also presented. In the table, the data can be broken down into the following characteristics: — gender, — age class, — highest level of education attained, — professional level, — working time and —sectors. Data available from: 1997. For most data, information is available until 2004. For some data, information is available up to and including 2000 or up to 2002.
